VISUAL TECHNIQUES V - VI: CHARACTER MODELING

Semester IV

Charactermodeling, Biped-Animation, UV-Unwrap, Texturing

IT'S ALIVE!

Like the game XNOR, this project was done for the Fantoche Animation Film Festival 2009.
So this is my very first character model with biped animation...

VIDEO

This is the alpha version of the movie. I worked on XNOR simultaneously, so there wasn't enought time to finish both projects.

CONCEPT

A few weeks before this project, I had a dream about a strange creature without eyes. At some point in this dream I was "inside" the monster. I stumbled around trying to escape.
I thought this is a good concept for my character model.

MODEL

This is the final model, rigged and textured.

"FANTI"

This strange thing is holding the eyes from the eyeless creature. I've planed to give the Eye-Keeper more depth by adding emotions.

CONCLUSION

Here you can see how the eyeless monster should look after he finally get its eyes.

VISUAL TECHNIQUES III - IV: REWRAP

Semester III

The second project in 3ds Max / Modeling and materials

DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT!

The job was to choose a game andtry to reproduce the style within a movie. In a second step, we had to break that with another completely different artstyle. I've chosen to create an animation with an underwater scene taken from the game Aquanox 2: Revelation from Jowood.
For the "rewrap-phase" I wanted to break the dark art style from the game.

VISUAL TECHNIQUES I - II: POLYGON RACE

Semester II

GENTLEMEN START YOUR ENGINES!

This was the first time ever I used a 3D modeling software. Every student had to create some vehicle for a race.
